Recognize an iPad model

Use the model number to determine exactly which iPad model you have. 
There are two ways to find the model number.

back of an iPad model number

Look at the back of your iPad or Open Settings, tap General, then tap About.

You can find the model number in the top section. If the number contains a slash (/), that is the part number (for example, MY3K2LL/A). 

Tap the part number to display the model number.

That number consists of a letter plus four numbers, without a slash (for example A2342).
